Any other GOOD programs ? You don't know a good one full stop.

Only Joking. VDJ is a total waste of time for anything other than using as an interface for connecting to online radio.

I'm sure on VDJ there is a button you can push to preserve the original key of a track even if you are altering the BPM.

It does. You can manually 'warp' the beats on tracks to fit together perfectly. It takes some getting use to, but its by far the most popular software for making mashups. I myself, dont use Ableton.

Mmm, takes me back to the days of the Smurfs - remember them? The little blue people-like things who sang 'The Smurf Song' with Father Abrahams many moons ago. Sorry, but this is not great. The pella has been trashed and I'm not sure of the source / quality of the mental either. Looking on the bright side, it's on beat... ;o)

Its got very mixed reviews to be honest, but i'm disliking it the more i hear it, and yes i know about the acapella but i dunno how to sort the pitch/key change out (recommend some mixing programs, so far i've heard ableton live)

any program has key/pitch lock features, just gotta find it.. I used VDJ briefly when I first started, I keep it around cuz I like looking at the waveforms together one vs the other when manually tapping out BPM.

Traktor Pro works well enough for syncing BPM and has key/pitch lock and recording. Sony Acid Pro is nice but ableton's algorithm is on a whole new level of warping to be honest. Just pick one and learn to use it properly.

BTW: You mentioned "matching key", yeah... DONT EVER go off some sort of software. VDJ is fucking horrible at figuring out key sigs, hell even mixed in key and rapid evolution fuck that up sometimes, and those are designed SOLELY for that purpose. Listen to it, if it meshes well... then you know its in key. If you don't have that skill developed, learn some basic music theory, play notes in different key sigs and figure it out manually (like on an instrument, VST, or fruity loops etc)

Its not hard to hit Google and type in 'Keep Pitch in VDJ'. There is a KEYLOCK button, hit that and your track will not sound as if Chipmunks have invaded.

VDJ is a disgrace to what we do, so I understand that you want something more powerful. There is a problem however. What your doing is selecting two tracks and hitting sync. Ableton, Magix Samplitude, Magix Seqouia, Sony Acid etc - they all require you to do the beat / tempo matching. You can switch it to automatic with Ableton and any Magix product but it wont be right.

I suggest you get a product called Magix Music Maker and go from there. Its available to buy cheap, or you can download it. There is also plenty of tutorials on Youtube for you to follow.

Or take the plunge and get Ableton, again theres plenty of tutorials available on YouTube for you to watch. Its not as easy as Magix Music Maker, but it's more powerful.

But you must understand what you are presently doing is not music production, its DJ'ing. You will find there is a huge difference when it comes to using real audio editors.

Sony Acid Pro is actually renowned for having the best stretching algorithm (just saying). But the algorithm will only help the quality of the stretched track.
